This blog is dedicated to a topic of crucial importance for companies in an ever-changing, hyper-connected and increasingly technological world: digital marketing strategy. In this introductory article I will detail the objectives of the EMD blog.

Objective of the blog

Why do I do it? Basically for the same reasons that led me to create the digital marketing strategy agency EMDTo transmit knowledge, to support people in their business projects, to bring added value based on research, knowledge and experience. In short, to help companies to grow.

There is a lot of information on the Internet, in Spanish and in other languages, so one might think that everything has been “invented”. However, studying the queries or searches that Internet users make on Google (with tools such as Google Trends, Google Keyword planner, Answer the public or Semrush), we see that there are many searches on strategies. By marketing channel, by sector of activity, by type of company or directly by company name.

As the focus I want to give to this blog is more on spreading knowledge, analyzing issues in a deeper way, than publishing news or current affairs, I will rely on the concerns of Internet users to try to give the most relevant answers possible, with proven data and contrasted information.

How will I do it?

The blog will have different categories:

  • Strategy, where I will post material on how to define a digital marketing strategy, where to start, what are the elements to take into account, what methodology and tools to use, what are the novelties, how to adapt the strategy according to the evolution of the market or the results obtained, etc. Here is an example of a first article.
  • Digital Marketing, a block dedicated to analyzing the different marketing channels, exploring the possible actions that can be taken, the kpis to take into account and the best practices, illustrating the category of examples and practical tips. To better understand the terms used, I added a glossary.
  • Agency, to communicate about the agency’s life, ongoing projects, joys and challenges: we are humans talking to humans!
  • Interviews, a section where I will interview important personalities from the world of digital marketing, prominent companies, startups… Well, all the interesting people who have something to say about digital marketing strategy!
  • Case study, a category whose ambition is on the one hand to present the digital marketing strategies of certain companies. On the other hand, to provide information and advice on possible strategies by sector of activity or by type of project.
  • News, where I will publish my analysis and point of view on some news that I consider of interest to the reader.

Quality vs. quantity

Applying the basic rules of a good content strategy to my own blog (I would only be missing!), I will publish few articles. But I will try to make sure they are of quality and that they add value in solving your problems.

And since I believe that an article should be “alive”, especially since a blog is an online format, I would love to include comments I receive from readers and regularly update the data and information published.

Those are the goals of the EMD blog. I reread this post and it is quite a declaration of intent, isn’t it? Now it’s time to work, to turn this project into reality, to provide value and to be consistent.

EMD, a project I have been imagining for some time now

EMD, a project I have been imagining for some time now 1920 1280 Eric Onidi

Every project has a story: that is the story of why I created the EMD agency.

When marketing has been an essential part of your work for 20 years and you have developed digital marketing strategies for a large number of companies of all sectors and sizes, you consider at some point in your life to take the leap and create your own agency.

In a web or marketing agency, as an executive in international startups or as an independent, I have followed the evolution of a sector that has revolutionized our ways of living, sharing, buying – and will continue to do so at an even higher rate in the future. The way in which we relate to a brand and what we expect from it goes far beyond a commercial relationship or an emotional bond.

Sometimes you need an incentive to decide: the Coronavirus pandemic of March 2020 was it for me. As the projects I was working on were impacted, I decided to take action. I turned the ideas I had in my head for some time into reality.

My goal is to grow companies in the digital world.

Passing on knowledge, supporting people in their projects, adding value with research, knowledge, involvement and passion or innovating are essential values for me.

So it is now, in March 2020 and in the middle of confinement that I decided to give consistency to my project, creating the agency EMD – Digital Marketing Strategy, so that these values are present in my daily work.

Over time, talking to a multitude of people from different fields, sectors, training, country… I realized the enormous need that exists to better understand the online world. And above all to know how to take advantage of it.

It’s normal, it’s such a vast and rapidly changing field that even we professionals find it hard to keep up with it! Inbound and Content Marketing, Return on Engagement, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Audience…: when is the next concept, the next tool, the next data to be taken into account?

Many companies remain paralyzed in the face of the digital challenge. Others make timid and uncoordinated attempts at online marketing channels. But evolution is unstoppable and nowadays, either you are present online with a coherent strategy, or your business has little future.

I am very clear about EMD’s vision, why I am starting this project; it can be summed up in one short sentence: “tohelp companies grow“.
